Get to know Joe Young | @GorillaJoeYoung

Tyrone Derryl Clay aka “Joe Young” -The Great Ape, was born in November of 1982 in Germany, but after his mom married a passionate pastor and soldier of the U.S Army in 1985, him and his family moved to Germany. Groomed in the German system of school and education, Joe learned to speak the language fluently. Joe knew that he wanted the finer things in life, so he went out to hustle. He got paid to draw comic books for other students, but his drive increased as his tastes evolved eventually leading him into a life of criminal activity. The young hustler started rappin’ seriously after he heard the solo album of Wu Tang Clan ́s Cappadonna. In 2002, he met a young woman at a local club and this relationship became the catalyst for change. Joe and a friend formed a party promotion company, which led to two club ownerships.

 As he continued to move forward with business endeavors Joe managed to keep his musical skill up to date and started working on his debut album “Cash & Grams” with his homie Bugi. The album was released on Sony BMG in 2005 and boasted features from Inspectah Deck, ED O.G., Cappadonna and Masta Ace. It was Ghostface Killah that gave Joe rap moniker. Signed to Richmoney LLC/NEO/Sony Music; rapper, music producer, songwriter and owner of his own clothing line Pürchina, Joe Young has done work with Tyga, Lil Wayne, Raekwon, Pusha T., Rick Ross, The Game and many more. Early in 2014 Joe Young and K Young from L.A released an EP. For this EP they found a group by the name of BOBC which made a worldwide impact. The project is called Black Bottles & Models. The project features: Yung Berg, OT Genasis, Kid Ink, Rick Ross and more. The tape features Rick Ross, the Game, Ca$his, K. Young, Chris Brown, Da Illest, Shorty Mack, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt and more. He is also set to release The Silver Surfer Remix this week featuring Wiz Khalifa, Max B, AL Pac is entirely produced by the legendary hip hop producer Dame Grease. Also check out Gone Till November Mixtape below It features some of Joe Young’s favorite artists. For this Project its important to let the music speak and not who’s hot at the moment. Aside of that, Joe is also releasing a collabo album with the legendary westcoast MC and originator of what we know as G Funk Kokane. ​​
