Akuka Naru - Heard | @akuanaru

Akua is a self-proclaimed activist, who engages in global, political and social issues, such as the problems of gender and racist prejudice. This was evident throughout her fantastic set, during which she combined politically charged lyrics, socially conscious rhymes and of course, captivating vocals. 

We were treated to various tracks that feature on the new album, The Miner’s Canary. Many of the songs showcased Akua’s impactful lyrics, such as the repeated opening line of ‘(Black &) Blues People’ – “Black people unite!” the bold and emotional delivery of which, made Akua’s passion evident to all.
