$100,000 “Wyclef Jean” Video Young Thug Never Actually Showed Up For

The official video for Young Thug's Jeffery opener, "Wyclef Jean," is here and there's a lot to unpack. The video is an exercise in storytelling, courtesy of its co-director, Ryan Staake and John Colombo who claims that despite a $100,000 budget, Thugger never actually appears in any footage he shot.
The story is well worth the watch. Highlights include a lengthy back-and-forth about the video treatment, a self-directed clip of Thug eating Cheetos (his only appearance), kids smashing cop cars in front of cops, a gross Reqiuem For a Dream reference, and Thug leaving the set before filming anything because of an Instagram hack.
